Antisemitism in Medicine: A Panel Discussion

March 19, 2025 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
  • « Entrée 2025: Your Seat at the Table
  • The Launch of Entourage at Emagine Royal Oak’s Sportsbook »

Antisemitism has infected medical schools, healthcare institutions, workplaces
and professional associations, creating a hostile environment for Jewish
healthcare professionals and patients alike. Mirroring trends across broader
society, Jewish healthcare professionals have faced boycotts and bias, Jewish
medical students have been harassed, and Jewish patients risk disruptions in
their care. Join us to hear from experts in the field confronting healthcare
antisemitism and explore strategies to confront the challenge, including
Michelle Stravitz, CEO of the American Jewish Medical Association (AJMA),
David Goldfarb JD, Senior Director, Strategic Health Resource Center Jewish
Federations of North America and local physicians and policy makers.

$36 per person includes kosher-style heavy apps and cocktails.
Kosher certified option available upon request.
Please RSVP in advance by March 10.

This event is intended for both medical professionals and medical students.

**Michelle Stravitz** is the Inaugural CEO of the American Jewish Medical
Association (AJMA), having joined in February 2024. Serving in this role at
AJMA is the culmination of Michelle’s years of experience founding and
managing a non-profit organization in the oncology exercise space, as a lay
leader in the Jewish community, management and strategy consulting, and
delivering event planning services. Michelle Stravitz is the founder and
former CEO of 2Unstoppable, a non-profit whose mission is to help women with
cancer improve their cancer outcomes through exercise. She was the CFO of
Spectrum Management Consulting and has 20 years of experience running a small
consulting firm. Michelle has served as an Executive Board member,
event/committee chair, and strategy consultant and is recognized as an
influential leader in the Washington DC Jewish community.

**David Goldfarb** is the Senior Director of the Jewish Federations of North
America’s Strategic Health Resource Center, where he leads efforts to advance
policies that support the health and welfare of the Jewish community. In this
role, he works closely with partner agencies in health and human
services—including nonprofit hospitals, family and children’s service
agencies, long-term care communities, and vocational organizations.
Previously, David was Director of Long-Term Supports and Services Policy at
The Arc of the United States, the largest national community-based
organization advocating for and with people with intellectual and
developmental disabilities. Before The Arc, he spent nearly eight years
directing advocacy for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the
leading professional association for lawyers serving older adults, people with
disabilities, and their families. David began his policy career as the
Economic Policy Fellow for former Senator Bill Nelson of Florida.
